State Farm makes $20,000 gift to Gus A. Stavros Center The Stavros Center received a $20,000 gift from State Farm to support the Center’s ongoing programming for K-12 teachers to help educate students in economics and financial literacy. To date, State Farm has provided more than $160,000 in financial support to the Stavros Center. Stavros Center workshop empowers educators to use cars to teach analysis, decision making A recent workshop used the Disney Pixar’s Cars” and the economic principle of making choices when it comes to the car buying experience to give teachers model-eliciting activities to use with the students in their classrooms. Stavros Center workshop explores financial literacy using work of Leonardo da Vinci The workshop explored the birth of the Renaissance period in Italy and the special circumstances that allowed for the emergence of a consumer culture.
