Stavros Center for Free Enterprise and Economic Education The Stavros Center works to advance the effective teaching and integration of free enterprise, financial literacy and economic education into the K-20 curricula. Our Mission Learn More Upcoming Workshops Register for Upcoming Workshops Our Staff Meet the Stavros Team Make a Gift Support the Stavros Center Stavros Center News Stavros Center receives Coca-Cola Foundation grant to help educators integrate lessons on sustainability into K-12 curriculum The USF Stavros Center received a grant from the Coca-Cola Foundation to help K-12 educators teach their students about sustainability in all subjects and grade levels. State Farm makes $20,000 gift to Gus A. Stavros Center The Stavros Center received a $20,000 gift from State Farm to support the Center’s ongoing programming for K-12 teachers to help educate students in economics and financial literacy. To date, State Farm has provided more than $160,000 in financial support to the Stavros Center. Stavros Center workshop empowers educators to use cars to teach analysis, decision making A recent workshop used the Disney Pixar’s “Cars” and the economic principle of making choices when it comes to the car buying experience to give teachers model-eliciting activities to use with the students in their classrooms. Stavros Center workshop explores financial literacy using work of Leonardo da Vinci The workshop explored the birth of the Renaissance period in Italy and the special circumstances that allowed for the emergence of a consumer culture.
